The American Advertising Awards is one of the industry's largest creative competitions, attracting nearly 35,000 professional and student entries each year through local AAF Ad Club competitions. The mission of the American Advertising Awards is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in advertising.
But don’t let the name fool you! Categories cover not only Traditional Advertising but Branding, Marketing, Sales Promotion, Communications, Social Media and so much more. If you created it, there’s likely a category for it!
Every year, changes are made to the categories of the ADDYs! So please take a moment to review the NEW categories and the NEW rules.
For example, this year, they have added a CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY category. What does that mean? Think P&G's campaign for "The Talk."

For all other categories, a physical entry form and physical samples of the creative work suitable for judging must be submitted as part of the entry even though a PDF or JPG of the entry was uploaded.

Please submit each entry in a clear plastic envelope and INCLUDE YOUR ENTRY FORM. Also INCLUDE WITH YOUR GROUP OF ENTRIES, ONE SIGNED MANIFEST (THE LISTING OF ALL YOUR ENTRIES).

To help us all Let It Out, we’ve added Cincinnati-only awards. NO entry fees. They’ll be judged by your local ad peers. These are just for fun.
HOW TO ENTER “CINCY” AWARDS:
Nominate yourself, your colleagues, or your work! It's easy. Simply submit your work in a tangible format to Grey Midwest by Feb. 18th.
Judging will be done the night of the ADDYs by the people in attendance. So we need a great visual to judge these! Also, please do not submit any work that will be submitted in the regular ADDYs and no student nominations in these categories.
Cincy 01. Your best, weirdest, nuttiest, sensational, different entry. Must be visual, not digital, so we can display it at the event. And can not have been entered in the regular ADDY competition. We will assign categories after we review all the selections.
