Mike's advertising career started with an internship on a Presidential campaign (read my lips!).
Which led to selling (legal) drugs at a healthcare PR firm.
Which led to selling booze as an account guy on Stolichnaya.
Which led to drinking booze as a copywriter on Stolichnaya.
Which led to a pretty good run writing ads for brands like ESPN, NBC, Samsung, NFL, Casio, Bombay Sapphire, About.com, Epicurious.com, MSG Varsity, Concierge.com, Geoffrey Beene, Godiva, Gotham Comedy Club, Loews Hotels, Putnam Investments, Dryer’s Ice Cream, Partnership for a Drug-Free America, Standard & Poor’s, The McGraw-Hill Companies, Friendly’s, The Jim Henson Company, AMC, Quaker State, Liz Claiborne, Warnaco, SKYY Vodka, Cabo Tequila and many more.
Which led to earning little trophies and things to frame like Addy Best of Show + a bunch of Golds (local and regional), Creativity Pick of the Day, One Show, a truckload of Telly Awards, finalist at the London International Advertising Awards, appearing in Luerzer’s Archive, and a regional Emmy.
And in Rovner's own words:
"I find it hard to be serious for very long. So I’ll be brief. I tell stories. My morals are suspect. I’m prone to tangents. I have a filmographic memory. And I’m efficient with timesheets (which also means I’m a fibber). Advertising is my home. Please wipe your feet."
